All Types of Electric R/C Cars and Trucks need Rechargeable Batteries to RunThese batteries can be nickel-cadmium (NiCD) or nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH), or Lithium Polymer (LiPo). NiCD batteries are an older type that are becoming outdated. LiPo and NiMH batteries are both newer and both have different advantages. Most battery packs with an output of 7.2 or 8.4 volts. 7.4 is usually the minimum volts is needed to run an electric truck or car. Batteries needed to run electric remote control cars are usually available in packs of six and over. Fully charged, these battery packs can last between 10 and 40 minutes but this duration can vary according to driving conditions.
